Last go-round, the Republican spokesperson after an Obama speech was Louisiana Governor, Bobby Jindal. Who could forget that memorable train-wreck of a Republican rebuttal speech Jindal gave? It was hilarious. This time around, the Republican rebuttal speech was overkill. The new Governor of Virginia, whatever his name may be, spoke in response to President Obama's state of the union address on January 27, 2009.
After listening intently to President Obama's speech, which I thoroughly enjoyed, does the new Governor of Virginia really think I could sit through even 5 minutes of another formal, entirely partisan and non-objective speech? I don't even know the man from Adam. Why would it matter anyway? Even if I had the time, the whole dog and pony show by the newly elected VA governor and Republican party was more ridiculous than Jindal's frozen presentation. Politically correct human props in the background, even. Please. Michael Steele might have been a better option even.
