My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Haiti and their families. It is sad that it took such devastation for the world to come to Haiti's rescue. I sincerely hope that out of this tragedy a new and better beginning will be born for the population. Please share your thoughts as part of this thread.

Looking at this devastation on TV, I am grieved. I was eating dinner one day while watching and I felt a moment of shame at the plenty that I have (even though I am poor and without a job), but I am rich when I hear of these people who have even less and suffer such poverty, and now disaster. My heart goes out to them, my prayers go up. I wonder how in the 20th century a land so close to two major continents can not have evolved.
I don't hear much about Haiti, but with all the help Africa gets, even Africa looks more modern than this country and the difficulty of getting help to these people must be overwhelming to those trying to get aide to them.
Although America has seen a lot of devastation, with 9/11 and the flood of Louisiana and the burning fires in the West, and certain areas, it is not everywhere at once. What would we do if America were hit everywhere at once? Where would we run? We should think about this, because it could happen to us. Jesus has prophesied such destruction at the end of this world. Where will we run?
