Political Hypocrisy and Whatnot

Senator Obama has chosen Senator Biden as his running mate, and I say hurray. This morning the McCain campaign and some Fox News reporters and wannabe pundits and other sources were salivating at the perceived misstep by Senator Obama in his choice of a running mate. Such ill-conceived gloating, reporting and anti-campaigning is the height of snobbery and hypocrisy.

I gather that the underlying assumption is that a chief executive (i.e., U.S. President) knows everything, or should know everything there is to know in the universe? Let's see. Wasn't it Condoleeza Red Beans and Rice who once said that staffers were tutoring Dubya Beans and Gas on geography and foreign countries when years ago Dubya demonstrated his lack of knowledge when asked to name some foreign capital, or some such minor thing? What person in this day and age really thinks that John McCain or any other candidate or elected official incumbent doesn't have staffers who brief them on every single thing? It is a pretty stupid cause for the McCain campaign to now take up bashing Senator Obama for having the good sense and professional confidence to choose someone who will supplement Senator Obama's knowledge. Who would they want McCain to choose? Perhaps Senator Obama should have chosen a Burger King food server as his running mate? Are some of these critics and campaign staffers taking stupid pills every morning when they awaken and before they speak? Senator Biden brings perfect balance to the Obama presidential campaign bid in my opinion. Who cares if Biden criticized Obama's lack of foreign affairs experience when everyone erroneously pitied Senator Obama as the underdog ne'er-do-well? Biden was right then regarding Senator Obama's limited foreign affairs experience, and now Obama is right on target with the selection of an experienced and not the least bit shy policitian as his running mate. There is a saying that the best bosses hire people who are smarter than they are. Hello? If only more CEO's, managers and supervisors would do just that, perhaps there would be an end to the dummying down of U.S. workers who are tired of bosses who act as if they know every durn thing and are as insecure as the day is long! Needless to say, for me, I am thrilled that Senator Obama had thje good sense to steer clear of Hurricane HilBill. Congratualtions to Senator Biden. Super kudos to Senator Obama for not seeking to hire a yes-man, unlike so many CEO's, managers and supervisors who simply want lackeys working for them. For the political naysayers, I say, whatever. May the best team win according to the U.S. public and not these hot air reporters and wannabe experts who make the rounds on news and talk and radio shows pretending to know every durn thing there is to know in the universe. Ask "we the people," Black, White, Blue and Purple!
I say that Senator Obama has also demonstrated leadership by not waiting like his political opponent in the shadows to declare his running mate. By waiting, McCain's campaign signals weakness to someone like me who thinks that if you are shooting straight and have done your homework, you don't defer your decision until your opponent has made his announcement. More ridiculous posturing from a dinosaur's campaign. Prior to his campaign, I honestly respected Senator McCain's senior statesman knowledge and experience. Like HillBill's campaign, McCain's campaign is merely highlighting all of his insecurities and mood swings and conspiracy theories. The Obama campaign needs to "keep right on keeping on" with whatever it is doing so well. Yay-hay-hey!!
